We continue with the stories of 9-day trip to the Maldives. On this occasion, we spent the first day doing snorkeling at the Kuredu Island Resort and we discovered that in the Maldives there is too much to do.

That morning we woke up soon. About seven o'clock in the morning it was totally daytime and from our villa you could hear the waves breaking on the beach just a few meters from the bed. At that time there was not a soul and, as it was a bit cloudy, we went for a morning walk to discover the island a bit. The island of Kuredu It is quite large by Maldives standards: it has just over one kilometer long and you can travel the entire shore walking in just over an hour.

One of the things that caught my attention the most is that there you have to forget your shoes. And the whole island is covered with beach sand, even the floor of the restaurants is beach sand. After breakfast at the Koamas restaurant, we head to the center that has Prodivers on the island to do our first snorkeling session on the island's reef.

After a few brief explanations about the reef and diving in the Maldives, we went to the water with John, our instructor, and all the equipment. We walked to the pier and there we went down the stairs directly to the turquoise water. Upon entering, we find some goldfish that made it clear that the reef off the island of Kuredu It was going to be spectacular.

Little by little, we went fluttering down the reef and among the corals we saw the following fish: Napoleon fish (Plectorhinchus vittatus), asparagus (or parrot fish), he Balistoides viridescens (or titan triggerfish), he Lutjanus Kasmira (or blue striped snapper). The seabed of the island is absolutely incredible and even more for the fact that it is a few meters from the beach. Another interesting point of snorkeling in Kuredu is that there is a sunken ship on the reef, right at the point where the seabed reaches 25 meters deep.

Back to the beach, we met a huge sea turtle That became the star of our little dive. He was eating the bottom seaweed so quietly while a slightly lazy fish was a passenger in his shell. That was undoubtedly the star moment of the dive.

After two hours in the water exercising, we went out and went to return the material to the Prodivers center. In the panels there are announced all excursions and departures from snorkel and diving What do they do every day? And we made a mental note of some of the ones we wanted to do. The excursions are not included in the "All inclusive Plus", but it is worth paying extra for going to see striped blankets and whale sharks If you are in the Maldives.

With so much physical exercise we went to rest a little at the hotel pool. There we had some mocktails (alcohol-free cocktails) and we bathe in the swimming pool before going to eat at Franco's restaurant, an à la carte restaurant of «Mediterranean food»Which is not included, but the« All inclusive »gives you a 50% discount. I ordered a grilled salmon with hollandaise sauce and couscous ($ 28) which was superb.
